The Google Pixel Watch 2 is the company’s latest flagship smartwatch, and it’s always getting new features. According to a new report, the Pixel Watch too could bring a feature called Vibration Watch. It’ll let you tell the time without having to look at your watch.

One thing that the Google Pixel Watch 2 (Review) brought to the table was a set of better haptics. So, when the watch vibrates, you’ll feel a much more precise pop. This is great when it comes to delivering notifications. They prove to be much better than the haptics in the original Pixel Watch.

Vibration Watch can let you tell the time on the Pixel Watch 2 without looking at it

There are times when you need to tell the time, but you can’t quite stop to look at your watch. Maybe you’re driving and want to keep your eyes on the road. Maybe, you’re in a dark environment and the light from your watch could be a distraction. So, what do you do?

According to a new report, Google is currently testing a feature called Vibration Watch. It will use vibrations to help you tell the time. When you tap the watch screen with two fingers, the watch will vibrate a few times to let you know what time it is. For example, if the time is 1:00, the watch will buzz one time. If it’s 2:00, it will buzz two times. You will single-tap for the hour and double-tap for the minutes.

It’s set up in a way so that you can easily tell the time without much hassle. You will get a long buzz to represent the tens place, and a short buzz to represent the ones place. For instance, if it is 59 minutes after the hour, you wouldn’t want your watch to vibrate 59 times. Instead, the watch will give you five long buzzes followed by nine short buzzes. This will make it much easier to understand

There will also be a terse mode. Rather than give you the exact minute, the watch will buzz once for every 15 minutes. To do this, the watch will round the minute to the nearest 15-minute mark. So, if it’s 16 minutes after the hour, the watch will buzz once since it’s so close to the 15-minute mark. If it is 47 minutes after the hour, it will buzz three times. This way, it can give you a rough estimate of what time it is.

Right now, we don’t know how widespread this test is. It appears that it’s being tested on a limited number of people. Hopefully, we will see this test get a wider rollout. With any luck, there will be a feature drop next month, and this feature will be on it.
