After a teaser during the Galaxy S24 launch last month, Samsung is officially unveiling the Galaxy Ring at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, which kicks off tomorrow in Barcelona, Spain. The Korean firm confirmed the launch in a press release briefing its MWC agenda. The device will be part of its intelligent health lineup.
Samsung to unveil the Galaxy Ring at MWC 2024
Samsung has been working on a smart ring for a long time now. After years of rumors and leaks, the company finally confirmed the existence of the Galaxy Ring last month. It teased the product after unveiling the Galaxy S24 flagships. The firm said the ring is on the way but didn’t share additional information. Leaks said the device will arrive alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 in July or August.
However, Samsung has now confirmed that the Galaxy Ring will debut at MWC 2024. The company plans to introduce AI-powered intelligent, personalized, and seamless health experiences at the event. The smart ring is part of this effort to simplify everyday wellness. The company says the device will support “smarter and healthier living via a more connected digital wellness platform—Samsung Health.”
Samsung has kept all other details about the Galaxy Ring for MWC but shared more information about the new health features. “My Vitality Score offers personalized health insights based on multiple factors including Sleep, Activity, Heart Rate, and Heart Rate Variability, while Booster Card helps make each day healthier by tracking predefined goals and delivering actionable insights,” the company explained.
The Korean tech giant’s MWC 2024 portfolio also includes new mobile AI features and an enhanced SmartThings ecosystem for smarter and healthier living. “Our latest Galaxy products and innovations unlock the power of mobile AI to empower users in their everyday lives to open up new possibilities,” said TM Roh, Samsung’s head of mobile business. It will be interesting to see how Galaxy Ring can complement Galaxy watches and smartphones in simplifying everyday wellness.
MWC attendees can get hands-on with Samsung’s new health features
MWC 2024 will run from February 26 to February 29. Samsung’s Galaxy Experience booth is located in Hall 3 of the Fira Barcelona Gran Via. Attendees can visit the boot to get hands-on with the company’s new health features and services unveiled at the mega event. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will allow visitors to try the Galaxy Ring too. We will let you know when we have more information.
