Google Chrome, the world’s leading web browser, has always been the key to Google’s wide range of tools that make searching more accessible. One of the add-ons that come with Chrome is Google Lens, a very powerful search tool aiding in homework, translating, and searching items by image. While the feature exists in mobile devices, its integration into Chrome desktop has been limited. But there is some good news on this front.

Google Chrome desktop set to enhance Lens integration with full-screen UI

A major update is coming soon that will bring the desktop Google Lens experience closer to its mobile counterparts. The current version of desktop Chrome enables users to access Lens by right-clicking on an image to open the reverse image search option. The “Search image with Google” option in the dropdown menu enables them to use this feature.

Users cannot enjoy advanced Google Lens features using the image reverse search option. Recent findings from @Leopeva64 on X (formerly Twitter) show that Google may be planning something big concerning Lens integration in one of their upcoming versions of Chrome.

The suggested change would have users choose “Search image with Google,” which will then take a screenshot of the screen and open that picture in a full-screen web UI. With this change, Lens eliminates its confinement within the sidebar, creating a more immersive user experience.

Multisearch will improve text-based image searches on Chrome desktop

According to reports, text-based searches will also receive a new version that resembles Multisearch. At first glance taking up fullscreen screenshots might look redundant when looking for texts but this can mean an introduction of the Circle to Search feature which isn’t available for Chrome as of now.

Finally, another related feature indicates that screenshots taken using reverse image search may prompt editing tools to make searching more precise. Regarding the recent improvements in lens integration, Google Chrome desktop users can expect enhanced accessibility and functionality. With ongoing innovation and fine-tuning of their tools, desktop users can look forward to a seamless and immersive browsing experience that includes expanded Lens features at the click of a button.
