A popular complaint about every new generation of iPhones these days is that they look and feel very similar to their predecessors with very little improvement or change in place. Well, speaking of the next generation of iPhones, or more specifically the iPhone 16 Pro, while many design elements are staying the same, there will be some additions and improvements that are expected to uplift the user experience.

There is going to be a new button on the right side this year

Someone keeping up with the leaks might have already heard about this, the “Capture Button”. This one is placed below the volume button and can be easily accessed while using the camera in landscape mode, unlike the Action Button. This new camera assistive button will reportedly enable the user to adjust the focus and zoom level besides letting them capture the photo. CAD renders obtained by 91mobiles also indicate that Apple has made the Action Button slightly taller.

Additionally, 91mobiles has revealed dimensions of the iPhone 16 Pro that they have obtained from industry sources. The device will reportedly measure 149.6 × 71.4 × 8.4mm. If the dimensions are accurate, the next Pro iPhone is going to have a bigger screen than the iPhone 15 Pro (146.6 x 70.6 x 8.3 mm). Notably, previous leaks suggest a 6.3-inch display panel for the iPhone 16 Pro.

A 5x periscope camera on the iPhone 16 Pro?

Looking at the schematics, the camera assembly of the iPhone 16 Pro appears to be exactly the same as last year’s iPhone 15 Pro, which has a 3x telephoto, unlike the 5x Tetraprism periscope telephoto of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. According to 91mobiles, the slight increase in size on the iPhone 16 Pro could be enough to make room for a periscope camera module. Also, Apple could replace the 12MP ultrawide sensor with a 48MP one for both the Pro models. However, this is just a rumor at this point and you should take this with a pinch of salt.

Not to mention, the core design language of the successor of the iPhone 15 Pro is going to stay the same with the titanium frame. Speaking of the front design, display bezels could get even thinner. Leaked images of screen protectors surfaced on the internet just a few days ago indicating even thinner bezels than the iPhone 15 Pro. Notably, the CAD renders also show relatively thinner bezels as compared to the iPhone 15 Pro.
