WhatsApp has been on a roll for the last few weeks, and the next plans include rolling out a useful update in the coming weeks. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp could soon allow users to send longer videos on the app’s status section.

WhatsApp will soon let you share 1-minute videos on Status

WhatsApp is trying out a new feature where users can post status updates that are over one-minute videos. Currently, users can only post videos that are up to 30 seconds long.

This change probably comes from listening to what users want. People have been asking for the option to post longer videos as their status. With the old 30-second limit, it was hard for users to tell longer stories or share more about their lives. But now, with a one-minute limit, they can share more without having to cut down their videos.

The report adds that some beta testers already have the option to share videos up to 1 minute long as status updates. These testers got the feature by installing the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android from the Google Play Store. So, if you’re enrolled as a beta tester, you might check if the update is available. However, take note it will gradually be available to more users in the next few weeks. With that said, an update could be expected in a few weeks. There’s no clarity on whether this will come first to Android or iOS users.

How to post longer videos on WhatsApp once the update rolls out

Once the update is available is available for everyone, you can post longer videos on WhatsApp. To use this feature, open the app on your device. Go to “Status” and tap the plus icon by “My status.” Pick a video from your Photos or gallery, making sure it’s under 1 minute long. If it’s too long, WhatsApp will split it into 60-second parts for your status. Plus, you can also add captions before posting.
