Back in February, Majin Bu revealed battery capacities for all iPhone 16 models except the iPhone 16 Pro. Well, a different source now delivered that too. It seems like the iPhone 16 Pro will offer a disappointing battery capacity, though.

According to a Weibo tipster OvO Baby Sause Ovo, the iPhone 16 Pro will feature a 3,355mAh battery on the inside. That battery capacity presents an increase of only 2% compared to the iPhone 15 Pro. As a reminder, the iPhone 15 Pro has a 3,274mAh battery.
That would not be a problem if the iPhone 16 Pro didn’t come with a larger display, but it will. The phone is said to include a 6.3-inch panel, compared to a 6.1-inch one on the iPhone 15 Pro. Its ‘Pro Max’ sibling will also include a larger display.

What about the rest of the lineup? Well, the iPhone 16 will ship with a 3,561mAh battery, which will be bigger by 5.8%. The iPhone 16 Plus is said to feature a 4,006mAh battery, which is 8.6% smaller than the one in the iPhone 15 Plus. The Apple iPhone 15 Plus had an outstanding battery life, so we’re hoping this won’t affect it much.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max, on the other hand, will include a 4,676mAh battery, allegedly. That battery is 5.7% larger than the one included in the iPhone 15 Pro Max. That is expected as the phone will have a larger display.
Do note that the Apple A18 Pro chip will utilize TSMC’s second-gen 3nm process node (N3E) when it comes to its manufacturing. It’s expected to be more power efficient than the Apple A17 Pro.
There’s reason to worry, but we’ll see
So, both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Plus are kind of worrisome when it comes to battery life. The iPhone 15 Plus did have outstanding battery life, so if its display stays the same (with the iPhone 16 Plus), and the chip ends up being more power efficient… that shouldn’t be much of a problem.
The iPhone 16 Pro is more worrisome for us. The Apple iPhone 15 Pro had good battery life, but it could be better, that’s for sure. Such a small increase while increasing the display is… well, a thing to worry about, if you’re planning to pick the device up. We’ll have to wait and see what exactly will Apple deliver, however, these are all just rumors at this point.
