A rather interesting detail has just surfaced regarding the iPhone 17 Plus. A well-known display analyst, Ross Young, has reported that the iPhone 17 Plus will feature a smaller display than the current-gen model.

The iPhone 17 Plus will feature a smaller display, it seems

He, unfortunately, did not share the exact display size. However, he did say that the iPhone 17 Plus will “sit in between” the iPhone 17/iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max in terms of display size.

The current-gen ‘Plus’ model, the iPhone 15 Plus, has a 6.7-inch display. So based on this, Apple could aim for a 6.5 or a 6.6-inch panel, if we had to guess.

That’s an interesting tidbit, and we would have found it weird if a different source reported on it. However, Ross Young is usually spot-on with his information, especially when it comes to display details.

The current-gen models have displays ranging from 6.1 to 6.7 inches. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro have 6.1-inch displays, while the ‘Plus’ and ‘Pro Max’ variants offer a 6.7-inch panel.

The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will include larger display than current-gen models

Things will change a bit with the iPhone 16 series, however. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will retain the same display sizes. The other two models, however, will not.

The iPhone 16 Pro will include a 6.3-inch panel, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will get a 6.9-inch display. The bezels will be a bit thinner on both variants, but they’ll still be larger than the current-gen models.

The entire iPhone 16 series is expected to arrive in September. There’s a slight chance Apple will change its release cycle, but it’s not as likely. The iPhone 16 series won’t really bring all that much change design-wise, aside from the change in size itself for the ‘Pro’ models. The iPhone 17 series is expected to do more in that regard.
