The popular messaging platform with over 900 million monthly active users – Telegram has released its latest feature drop for the month and added 15 new features, including the ability to view your own profile, recommended channels, display your channel, birthday on your page, and much more.
Telegram’s new feature set is now rolling out with the latest version of the application. You can check for updates via your the Google Play Store. Update the Telegram and enjoy the new features. Let’s delve into the details.
Telegram added a dedicated “Channels tab” in the search interface. It shows the list of the channels you follow. Also, it will also offer a list of recommended channels with similar topics. The channel recommendations list is solely based on the general topic of channels you already follow or subscribe to, said Telegram in its dedicated blog post. This feature helps you to discover new content creators and news broadcast channels.
Telegram introduces 15 new features
Telegram now finally allows you to view your Telegram profile as it appears publically. You can edit or change any information directly from the app.
Next, anyone who visits your profile on your birthday will be greeted with animated confetti and plenty of balloons. This is similar to a feature on “X” (formerly Twitter).
You will also now get reminders with banners in the chat list when it’s someone else’s birthday (from your contact list) – so you won’t forget to give them birthday wishes.
If you have a dedicated Telegram channel, you can now add it to your profile page above your bio with a detailed preview of the latest post. This feature allows anyone to access your channel with just one tap.
Telegram now allows users to link their collectible usernames to their Telegram account or channel.
The new reaction notification settings allow channel admins to limit the number of reaction types per message. You can access the new settings in Settings > Notifications and Sounds > Reactions.
The latest update brings significant improvement in the moderation tools. Group admins and owners can now perform multiple moderation actions on messages at once and restrict user permissions instead of banning them from the channel or group.
Telegram also added some exciting features for its premium users. Telegram premium users can view stories anonymously, add custom and animated emojis in polls, and see their own ads while having an ad-free experience. Premium users also use a Stealth mode in the story menu to hide recent story views and continue hiding views for the next 25 minutes.
Sharing live locations with friends and family is now much more easy on Telegram. You can also set the time limit for the shared location and there is an advanced option that lets you share your location with family and friends indefinitely until you turn it off.
