AI chatbots have become a useful tool to use on the web. However, the next step is bringing AI technology to mobile devices. According to a new report, Anthropic launched its iOS app. Also, anthropic has unveiled a business payment tier.
Anthropic is one of the leading AI companies on the market, and Claude 3 is one of the best models out there. It goes up against models like Gemini and GPT-4, and it can trade blows. Not only that, but it is free to use. Like ChatGPT, you can use Claude if you create a free Anthropic account.
Anthropic launches its iOS app
You can’t argue with the convenience and portability of a smartphone. At this point, in order for most ventures to thrive, there needs to be some sort of mobile aspect to it. This is the thinking behind AI apps.
On Wednesday, Anthropic announced that it launched its iOS app in the Apple App Store. According to the report, a lot of the app experience revolves around syncing chat conversations and the ability to upload files such as images and more. So, if you use Claude on the computer, then you’ll be able to access your data using the convenient app.
You may be asking “Has Anthropic forgotten about Android?” The answer is no. The company’s co-founder Daniela Amodei told CNBC that the company is planning on developing an Android app. “We actually just hired our first Android engineer, so we are actively working on the Android app,”. There may be some time before Android users see the official app.
There’s also a business payment tier
Along with a shiny new app, Anthropic has more news to share. The company shouts information on a new business tier, and this will put it in competition with the likes of OpenAI and Google. Both of these companies have premium payment tiers that better give users access to additional functionality. Both of the aforementioned companies’ plans cost $20/month (technically, Google’s costs $19.99/month while OpenAI’s costs a flat $20/month).
However, the Anthropic plan, named Team, costs 50% more than the aforementioned plans coming in at $30/month. What do you get with this plan? Well, for starters, users have a larger context window. This means that they can input longer queries and larger documents to be processed.
Along with that, the Team plan gives you access to all three of the latest Claude models, the ability to use them for longer, and billing and admin tool management.
According to Amodei, this plan was actually born out of customers basically asking for an enterprise-grade payment tier. They asked, and Anthropic delivered.
