Samsung is preparing to soon launch the Galaxy M35 as its new mid-range proposition in select markets. Originally expected to be a rebadged Galaxy A35 launched in March, the upcoming M series phone may deviate significantly from its A series equivalent. Not just in terms of specs, but design too. Leaked renders show the Galaxy M35 will look nothing like the Galaxy A35.

Galaxy M35’s design revealed by leaked renders

Noted X tipster Evan Blass recently posted GIF files showing 360-degree images of the Galaxy M35 in three colors. The device has a standard Samsung look substantially different from the Galaxy A35. For one, the rear panel has curved edges instead of a completely flat back. The M series phone also misses out on the Key Island design. The new design element adds a bumper around the power and volume buttons.

Speaking of the buttons, the Gaalxy M35’s power key is recessed, confirming a side-mounted capacitive fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy A35 has an optical under-display sensor. The positioning of the SIM tray is also different. It sits on the top edge of the A series phone, while the upcoming device has it on the left side. The renders don’t show its top and bottom edges, so we can’t tell if it has a similar coin slit-like cutout for the speaker.

The display bezels appear a little wider, though there may not be a huge difference. The back panel has a stripped design but the camera arrangement is unchanged. Samsung has kept the same camera design on almost every phone it has launched since the beginning of 2023. It is creating a brand identity for the camera layout, so anyone can identify a Galaxy phone from afar by just seeing its rear cameras.

A 6,000mAh battery is confirmed

The Galaxy M35 has been rumored to feature a 6,000mAh battery, something Evan Blass has confirmed. The phone will likely support 25W charging. It previously surfaced on a few certification listings, revealing some specs. It boasts Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC connectivity technologies along with sub-6GHz 5G support and Android 14. Samsung’s Exynos 1380 SoC will power the handset with at least 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage.

The rest of the specs are currently under wraps. However, it may not be long before Samsung takes the wraps off it all. The company has already started putting up official support pages for the Galaxy M35 on its website. It might be targeting a similar launch timeline as the Galaxy M34 for its new M series phone. The 2023 model debuted in the first week of July. We will let you know when Samsung announces its successor.
