We’ve been waiting for Vivo’s next flagship phone to hit the market, and it’s finally here! The Vivo X100 Ultra finally launched today, and it brings an impressive camera package that should impress any smartphone photographer.

 Vivo launched the X100 Pro

Undoubtedly, this is one of the most powerful devices on the market. As exciting as it is, it will remain primarily within the Chinese market. So, that’s unfortunate for folks in the States. However, people who want to import this device will not be disappointed at all with its performance.

The Vivo X100 Ultra uses the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. As such, you can expect this phone to fly. When it comes to the RAM/storage, the three configurations are 12GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB. So, this is 100% a top-tier device, and it will have enough power to get you through any task you throw at it.

As for the display, you’re looking at a gorgeous 6.7-inch OLED panel with a QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. You can expect the screen to look absolutely beautiful, as Vivo’s displays are some of the best on the market.

As for the other specs, this phone has a large 5,500mAh battery, 80W charging, 30W wireless charging, up to IP69 water and dust resistance, an under-display fingerprint scanner, and Mac support.

The camera is the star of the show

Vivo really brought a powerful camera package with the X100 Ultra, and this undoubtedly makes it one of the best camera phones of the year. This phone has a triple camera setup. It has a 50-megapixel main camera with a 1-inch sensor size and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera.

While those are two impressive sensors, the real star is the 3.7x telephoto camera with a whopping 200-megapixel resolution. This has the highest resolution of any telephoto camera on a smartphone, and it should give you some amazing punched-in shots.

The main issue with telephoto cameras is that you can only push them so far before the images start to look pixelated and ugly. However, boosting the resolution of the telephoto cameras will ostensibly help with the output. Obviously, just boosting the resolution isn’t the only thing that needs to be done. Vivo has to put in the work to make sure that the image processing is up to par.

In any case, Vivo says that you should be good for up to 20x zoom with this sensor. You can probably punch in a bit more, but you’ll start to see image degradation.

If you’re in the market for this phone, it starts at 6,449 Yuan which roughly translates to $898. Getting a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 powered with 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a 200-megapixel telephoto camera, and other flagship specs for such a low price seems like a deal. Price-wise, this puts it in competition with phones like the OnePlus 12 (Review).

The 16GB/512GB model costs 7,299 Yuan (~$1,009) and the 16GB/1TB model costs 7,999 Yuan (~$1,106).
