The OnePlus 13 may not include wireless charging, a well-known tipster says. This information comes from Digital Chat Station, one of the best-known tipsters out there. He went to Weibo in order to share the news.
The OnePlus 13 may ship without wireless charging support
In his post, he said that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will fuel the phone. He also said that a 6,000mAh battery will sit on the inside of the device and that 100W wired charging will be supported.
Following that, he wrote “is it OK without wireless charging?”, while also adding an angry emoticon next to that. This clearly points to no wireless charging for the device. Needless to say, that’s a shame.
The OnePlus 11 did not include wireless charging. OnePlus brought it back with the OnePlus 12, and managed to receive a lot of praise for that. The company’s current-gen flagship (the OnePlus 12) supports 50W wireless charging.
Everyone thought that the same charging speed would be available in the OnePlus 13, or faster. That won’t be the case, though, it seems. OnePlus could completely ditch wireless charging from the device.
Some display information was also shared
That’s not all, though. The tipster had more things to say about the OnePlus 13. The tipster also shared the display and camera info. The phone will feature a 2K 8T LTPO AMOLED display, with a “basically straight screen”. So it may be very slightly curved. That display will also be large, of course (almost certainly a 6.8-inch display).
He also said that the rear camera setup will be upgraded with a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. He did not mention the other two cameras. As a reminder, the OnePlus 12 includes a 32-megapixel telephoto unit.
The OnePlus 13 is expected to launch in Q4 this year. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will fuel the device, and you can expect top-of-the-line specs through-and-through. Well, except for wireless charging, it seems.
