Like similar services, Google Gemini can generate images from prompts according to your requirements. However, sometimes you may like almost everything about the output, except for one thing in particular. Currently, the service doesn’t offer any options or tools to modify the current result. That said, it seems that Google is working on a tool to edit Gemini’s generated images.

You might soon be able to easily edit Google Gemini’s generated images

Image generation is one of the most powerful and useful options of the AI era. It allows content creators to save a lot of time by quickly generating images to use in anything. For example, they can use the image as a cover for a project, as a thumbnail for a YouTube video, and more. Of course, anyone could use it for fun too. Now, it seems that Google wants to enhance this feature to make things a lot easier.

When generating an image with Gemini, you can either keep it or generate a new one. But what if you just want the same image with a tweak in one specific area? Basically, you can’t do anything about it other than manually edit it or generate a completely new image. However, as for the second option, it’s possible that even using a prompt very similar to the original, the new output will be different enough to no longer be to your liking.

Gemini would offer two editing options

With this in mind, Gemini may receive an option to edit generated images using natural language prompts. That is, instead of using a prompt similar to the original but with slight modifications to generate a new image, you can simply ask to tweak the current generated image. As reported by Android Authority, Gemini would offer two options: prompt-based editing or “circle to edit.”

If you do resort to prompts, you can tell Gemini things like “change the background.” Meanwhile, the other option is to circle the specific area you want to tweak and then indicate the change you want to make. The operation of the latter is a bit reminiscent of Circle to Search.

According to the source, there are traces of the feature in the latest Google app beta (v15.29.34.29), but it is not yet implemented. It is not known when it will arrive, but hopefully it won’t take too long. The AI-generated images edition could quickly become one of the most useful tools of Gemini.
