Samsung Galaxy Watch7 owners could get a software fix that addresses the concerningly low battery life of their smartwatch. Samsung seems to have acknowledged that the wearable gobbles up battery, and its engineers could be working on software to stem the drain.

A fix to improve the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 battery life is under development

Smartwatch owners usually wish their wearable had better battery life. However, it is nearly impossible to cram large batteries in such a small form factor.

Several Samsung Galaxy Watch7 owners have been vociferously complaining about the device’s abysmal battery endurance. Interestingly, the device is barely a few weeks old, and battery life should not degrade so quickly.

According to Android Authority, a concerningly large number of Samsung Galaxy Watch7 users feel their wearable’s battery drains out quickly. Users raised similar complaints on Samsung’s community forums for South Korea.

Unexpectedly, a user claiming to be a Samsung representative posted a message implying Samsung is aware of the Galaxy Watch7’s poor battery life. The representative reportedly even added that the company has already identified the issue responsible for the accelerated battery drain.

If that’s not encouraging enough, the alleged Samsung representative mentioned a software patch fix for poor battery performance should head out soon. Needless to say, there’s no confirmed time frame for the update’s release.

How to improve the battery performance of a Galaxy smartwatch?

It is important to note that Samsung hasn’t officially acknowledged the poor battery performance of its latest Galaxy Watch7. Consequentially, the company hasn’t confirmed it would release an OTA (over-the-air) patch to fix the wearable’s battery drain issue.

Regardless, complaints about the Galaxy Watch7’s poor battery life right out of the box, have been steadily growing. Hence, it is possible that Samsung could be conducting an internal investigation to discover any software or hardware flaw negatively impacting battery endurance.

Samsung could release a software patch soon. However, in the meantime, smartwatch owners can take some simple precautions and change some settings to improve the battery life of their wearables, such as uninstalling unwanted apps, limiting notifications, and turning off AOD (Always On Display).
