Samsung’s Odyssey G6 gaming monitor has been one of the company’s more solid options for the last couple of years, and now Best Buy is offering a deal on it that makes it more exciting than usual. This normally $700 gaming monitor is currently $200 off and that means it can be yours for just $500.
That’s only $50 more than I paid for my Odyssey G5 monitor with lower-end specs. If you’re wondering what your $500 gets you, here’s what you’re looking at. For starters, the Odyssey G6 comes with a 32-inch ultrawide display. The ultrawide aspect ratio is great for PC games because it really opens up the game and lets you see more on the screen. This is also a curved monitor which will help with how immersive things look.
The 1000R curve “wraps vivid scenes more tightly around you” and that’s exactly how things feel when you’re playing games or watching movies. The display also has a 240Hz refresh rate. If you value smooth-looking visuals, then this high refresh rate is definitely a feature you want in a monitor. One of the cooler features of the Odyssey G6 is that it comes with Samsung Gaming Hub. The reason this is such a cool feature is because it has pre-installed apps for cloud gaming services like Xbox Game Pass and GeForce NOW.
Those will allow you to connect the monitor up to your Wi-Fi network and stream games from either of those services. Without any need whatsoever to connect a PC or a console. Other included features like the game bar and the CoreSync and CoreLighting are pretty nice as well. Additionally, this monitor features Auto Source Switch+. The feature is exactly how it sounds. It automatically switches to the new source signal when you power it on.
