Google’s advertising and marketing plans for the Pixel 9 series is already starting to take shape. The company just announced that on Tuesday, immediately following the Made by Google Keynote, there will be a “star-studded live stream variety show” called the “After Party”. This is a live stream that will kick off at 11:30AM PT/2:30PM ET on August 13.
Google also touts that this will be hosted by Keke Palmer, and also feature guest appearances from “Miami Heat basketball player Jimmy Butler, fashion designer Joe Ando, along with other surprise celebrity guests and a musical performance”.
In the post announcing this live stream, Google stated, “We’re excited to debut our first-ever Made by Google After Party, where we’ll bring together a diverse group of celebrities and media personalities to showcase the latest AI features in our Pixel portfolio.” The teaser also mentions that this is a “Pixel and Gemini experience”.
Google is looking to reach the masses with this type of live stream
Google has long been a popular phone maker among tech nerds. That includes many of you reading this article here. But, if Google wants to grow its smartphone market share, it needs to reach the average consumers. A show like this could help Google do just that. Given the number of celebrities that will be taking part in those variety shows next week, it’s going to be a pretty popular one. It’ll also be a way for Google to show off its new products, and how some of the new features work with these new products.
You’ll be able to watch the After Party on the Made by Google YouTube channel, with live demos and other pre-taped segments included. You’ll also be able to watch the keynote on that same YouTube channel, an hour and a half earlier. Google’s keynote is slated to start at 10AM PT/1PM ET.
