Currently, One UI 6.1.1 is only present on the new Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. Samsung is working to start rolling it out to more Galaxy devices soon. In the meantime, tipsters and developers continue to uncover some of the coolest improvements. A recent find reveals that the process of linking your phone to a Windows PC to stream apps is more seamless in One UI 6.1.1.

Streaming apps using Link to Windows is more seamless in One UI 6.1.1

Microsoft offers a linking tool between Android phones and Windows PCs called “Link to Windows.” This free app enables interoperability between both systems. Once set up, you can use your PC to manage text messages, make calls, or control media playback, among other options. However, there are some specific brands that offer additional features thanks to deals with Microsoft.

The Android brands that offer extended functionality in Link to Windows are Honor and Samsung. These exclusive features include drag/drop content between devices and streaming apps from your phone. In line with this, One UI 6.1.1 enables a feature that makes it more seamless to link your Galaxy with a Windows computer to stream apps.

As spotted by Android Authority, Galaxy devices running One UI 6.1.1 no longer need to accept permission on their phone’s screen every time they start an app stream to a Windows PC. Before, you had to tap a button on your phone every single time. This could be a bit annoying for regular users of the feature. However, now you’ll only have to accept the permission once (the first time). In any case, the phone must still be unlocked as a security measure.

Samsung is bringing back the original behavior of the feature

It’s noteworthy that this was the original behavior of the feature. However, the additional layers of security in Android 14 caused users to have to accept the permission before each app stream. Now, Samsung has managed to revert to the previous behavior. While it’s not a life-changing tweak, it will make the process more convenient.

Meanwhile, many Galaxy devices are waiting for the One UI 6.1.1 rollout. Samsung has even reportedly delayed the One UI 7 beta indefinitely to prioritize the rollout of 6.1.1 to several eligible phones.
