UPDATE (August 9, 2024): Right after Realme confirmed the launch date for its 300W charging, a video showcasing the tech surfaced. It is embedded below this paragraph. In it, you can see that the phone charges from 0 to 17% in 35 seconds. The entire video will be shown on August 14.
Realme has just revealed the launch date for its 300W charging tech. That technology was teased a couple of days ago, by a tipster. Realme itself just confirmed that the technology is coming.
Realme has just confirmed the launch date for its 300W charging tech
The company confirmed, via social media, that its 300W charging technology will see the light of day on August 14. Realme already has 240W charging tech under its belt, and several smartphones already use it.
Both the Realme GT Neo5 Pro and Realme GT5 are equipped with that tech. The company is looking to take things a step further, though, and compete with Redmi with 300W charging tech.
Redmi announced and demoed its 300W charging technology quite some time ago. The company did not use it in a single device thus far, though. Realme could even be able to trump Redmi in that regard.
Redmi’s 300W charging tech was able to recharge a 4,100mAh battery in less than 5 minutes. Needless to say, that’s immensely impressive. We do expect to see similar numbers from Realme.
Do note that Realme almost certainly will not announce a phone with this charging tech on August 14. The company will likely only demo this charging, so we’ll know exactly how fast it is.
The company’s 240W charging is still the fastest in any currently available smartphone
Realme’s devices with 240W charging are, to this day, the fastest-charging smartphones in the market. So if Realme ends up beating Redmi to the market with its 300W charging tech, it will basically trump itself.
We’re not sure in which phones will Realme stuff this technology, though. It could be a successor to either of the two devices mentioned earlier, though, of course. It remains to be seen.
Realme could announce when we will see the tech on the market during its event, and/or which device will wield it. It’s unlikely we’ll get that info on August 14, but it’s possible.
