The Google Store currently has just two cases available for the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. That is the official Google silicon case, which is available in Aloe, Obsidian and Porcelain. Along with the Case-Mate Tough Case, which is a clear case and actually cheaper than Google’s own case, at $39.99.
This is a pretty small amount of cases for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, but it’s also not that surprising. Typically, low-selling devices like this won’t get many cases made for them. Case makers lose money on cases they sell. They are able to make up for it by selling larger amounts of those cases. And obviously, a bunch of smaller case companies aren’t going to go to the hassle of making them for low-selling products. That’s why we don’t see a lot of cases for OnePlus devices outside of their own cases.
More cases are likely coming, closer to shipping
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is set to start shipping next month, around September 4. I’m assuming we will see more cases available by then. Now, yes there are more options available on Amazon. But, Google is offering up Google Store credits, which means you’d probably want to buy a case from Google with that credit, versus spending your actual money at Amazon on a case. That’s where the problem lies.
Currently, the Pixel Fold has a total of 8 cases on the Google Store. This includes cases from companies like Spigen, OtterBox, CASETiFY, ZAGG, Bellroy, Case-Mate, brand and of course Google’s own case. They are all part of the Made for Google program, and I know for a fact these companies all have cases available for Pixel 8 Pro Fold. So I feel very confident in saying there will be more options in due time.
But for now, you might want to check out Amazon for some Pixel 9 Pro Fold cases.
