The shiny (literally) new Google Pixel 8 is an incredibly stunning smartphone, and while it did get a price jump this year compared to the Pixel 7, you can still get it for a really good price. And it’ll continue to be a really good value since it is getting 7 years of Android updates, security updates, and feature drops.
The new Google Pixel 8 is actually a pretty significant upgrade over the Pixel 7. It received a pretty big display upgrade here, giving it a 60-120Hz display, and it’s super bright now. With up to 1400 nits of typical brightness and up to 2000 nits of peak brightness. Which looks incredible based on our hands-on time with the Pixel 8 at the Made by Google event.
Google has also upgraded the Pixel 8 with the new Tensor G3 processor. Which should be faster, less prone to overheating, and offer more AI smarts, which is definitely something Google wants.
