The Google Pixel 8 Pro is the most powerful Pixel phone that launched today, and we’re here to take a closer look at its specifications. You can also check out the Pixel 8 specs, though in a separate article.

The Google Pixel 8 Pro comes with a powerful set of specifications

The Pixel 8 Pro is fueled by the Google Tensor G3 processor. That is Google’s new chip, which is a notable improvement over the Tensor G2, on paper. Google also included 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM inside of the Pixel 8 Pro.

The company is offering several storage options for this device. You can choose between 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage variants. Do note that UFS 3.1 flash storage is used here, though, not UFS 4.0. Also, not all variants may be on offer outside of the US.

It has a large LTPO AMOLED display with a max brightness of 2,400 nits

A 6.7-inch 2992 x 1344 Super Actua OLED display sits on the front. This is an LTPO AMOLED display, its refresh rate goes from 1 to 120Hz, as needed. The max brightness is 2,400 nits, while the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects this panel.

Google did include its Titan M2 coprocessor inside the phone too. Android 14 comes pre-installed on the device, while the company promises 7 years of software updates for the device. Just to be clear, you’ll be getting 7 years of OS, security, and Feature Drop updates, not just security updates.

A rather large battery is included, and wireless charging supported

A 5,050mAh battery powers Google’s new flagship. The phone will charge at over 30W max. Google does recommend its 30W charger, but you don’t have to buy it (it’s not included in the box). You can get any USB-PD 3.0 (PPS) charger, though, and you’ll be good.

The phone also supports wireless charging at 30W, and Battery Share too. The company claims you can get from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes with wired charging, but getting to a full charge will take considerably longer.

A 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.68 aperture, 1.2um pixel size, 82-degree FoV) is backed by a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera (f/1.95 aperture, 0.8um pixel size, 125.5-degree FoV). A 48-megapixel telephoto camera (f/2.8 aperture, 0.7um pixel size, 21.8-degree FoV, 5x optical zoom) also sits on the back. OIS + EIS support is included, while both spectral and flicker sensors are included.

The phone is water and dust resistant, and has a dual SIM setup

The Pixel 8 Pro is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. There is an optical fingerprint scanner located under its display, while facial scanning is also supported. Dual SIM support is also included (nano SIM + eSIM), while Bluetooth 5.3 is on offer here. Wi-Fi 7 support is also included, and the same goes for 5G. You’ll also find a pair of stereo speakers on the device.

The phone measures 162.6 x 76.5 x 8.8mm, and weighs 213 grams. You can get the phone in Bay, Obsidian, and Porcelain color options.
