The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL launched today as the company’s most powerful variant, along with the smaller ‘Pro’ model. Two additional Pixel 9 devices arrived, the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. In this article, we will focus on the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL specifications.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL has very powerful specs, including Google’s very own SoC

The Pixel 9 Pro XL is fueled by the Google Tensor G4, just like all of its siblings. That is Google’s latest processor, and it comes with the Titan M2 coprocessor for security purposes. Google also included 16GB of RAM inside of this phone. You can choose between 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. The storage is non-expandable.

A 6.8-inch 2992 x 1344 Super Actua display is in use here. That is an OLED LTPO panel with a 486 ppi. It offers a refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz, as needed. The panel is protected by the Gorilla Glass 2, and it’s flat. The maximum brightness it can technically reach is 3,000 nits. HDR content is supported here.

Wired charging goes up to 37W, while wireless goes up to 23W

A 5,060mAh battery sits on the inside here. The Pixel 9 Pro XL supports 37W wired charging and 23W wireless charging. 5W reverse wireless charging is also on offer. Do note that Google’s 45W wired charging is recommended for wired charging and the Pixel Stand (2nd gen) for wireless charging. Neither of those chargers ships with the device, though.

This phone has three cameras on the back. The main camera is a 50-megapixel unit (f/1.68 aperture, 82-degree FoV, 1/1.31-inch sensor size, OIS, EIS). It is joined by a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera (f/1.7 aperture, 123-degree FoV, 1/2.55-inch sensor size), and a 48-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (f/2.8 aperture, 22-degree FoV, 5x optical zoom, Super Res Zoom up to 30x, 1/2.55-inch sensor size, OIS, EIS). A 42-megapixel unit (f/2.2 aperture, 103-degree FoV) sits on the phone’s front side.

Android 15 is not included out of the box

Android 14 comes pre-installed here, not Android 15. That’s because the Pixel 9 series launched early. Android 15 is right around the corner, though, and the Pixel 9 phones will get it first. Do note that Google promised 7 years of OS; security, and Pixel Drop updates for this smartphone.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. The phone has Gorilla Glass 2 on the back, and it has an in-display fingerprint scanner too. Facial scanning is also supported, but not advanced facial scanning. The device uses a front-facing camera for that purpose.

A dual SIM setup is in use here. There is a nano SIM card included, while eSIM is also supported. The phone has stereo speakers and supports Spatial audio. Bluetooth 5.3 is also supported, as is Wi-Fi 7 and 5G connectivity, of course.

The device comes in four color options

The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL measures 162.8 x 76.6 x 8.5mm, while it weighs 221 grams. The phone comes in Hazel, Obsidian, Porcelain, and Rose Quartz colors.
