Instagram Stories are extremely popular these days. So popular, in fact, that many other apps have copied this feature from Instagram. Pretty much everyone knows what Instagram Stories are at this point, so that’s not what we’re here to talk about. We are, however, here to show you how to add a link to your Instagram Story, as that is very much possible. Do note that we’ll show you how to add a regular web link to your Instagram Story, not how to link to your bio or anything like that.
Having said that, this procedure is not overly complicated, but it does require quite a few steps. We’ll show you how to do it one step at a time, and you’ll also find a bunch of screenshots below. That way, it’ll be easier for you to follow along and make the changes yourself. Having said that, let’s get started, shall we.
How to add a link to your Instagram Story
The first thing you’ll need to do is open the Instagram Android app, of course. We’ll assume you’re logged in so that we can proceed. You’ll need to simply swipe from left to right to access the Instagram camera.
Once the Instagram camera opens, you can either take a picture/video and publish a story from there. Or you can simply post something from your gallery by tapping the image icon in the bottom-left corner. For the sake of this tutorial, we’ll take a picture right then and there.
The next step, after you take the picture, is to tap the stickers button at the top of the display, as highlighted below.
A ton of different stickers will open, but you’ll need to find the ‘LINK’ one. Chances are you’ll need to scroll down in order to do it. Simply find the icon shown below, and tap it.
A new menu will pop up, asking you to enter your link, do that.
Once you type it in, you’ll simply be able to attach it to your story, or add a text for that link. So you can add a different text by tapping the ‘Customize sticker text’ option below. That’s what we’ll do for the purpose of this tutorial.
The ‘Sticker text’ field will open, asking you to add your custom text.
Once you’re done with that, simply tap the ‘Done’ button in the top-right corner.
There you have it, the link has been added in form of a ‘LINK’ sticker. Once I publish the Story highlighted below, tapping the ‘AH’ button will lead to the www.androidheadlines.com website. At this point, I have to tap the arrow in the bottom-right corner.
This is the last step before your Instagram Story is live. Instagram will ask you whether you’d like to publish your story to everyone (your followers, or whoever is selected by default), to a specific group of people ‘Close friends’, or send it via a Message. If you’d like to keep the default setting, simply tap the ‘Share’ button at the bottom, and you’re done.
