The new Google Pixel 6 Pro has a very smooth, 120Hz (AMOLED, QHD+) display. And it is LTPO so that the display will ramp up and down from 60Hz to 120Hz, depending on what you are doing on the screen. But as we all know from using 120Hz smartphones over the past year or two, that can use up some battery life.

So how do you conserve battery life? One way is to switch your Pixel 6 Pro down to 60Hz. That will bring it back in-line with phones like the Pixel 5a which has a 60Hz display. You can change this whenever you want. If you’re out and your battery is running low, you can make this switch and help your battery last longer too. Which may in-turn be very helpful actually. You will likely notice a difference between 60Hz and 120Hz though, so you may also want to keep it on. But it is nice that Google gives you the option to turn it on or off here.
