OnePlus 10 Pro vs Apple iPhone 14 Pro: Design

As you can see in the featured image, these two phones are quite different design-wise. The OnePlus 10 Pro is made out of aluminum and glass, while the iPhone 14 Pro combines stainless steel and glass. The OnePlus 10 Pro has a curved display with thin bezels, and a display camera hole in the top-left corner. The iPhone 14 Pro includes a pill-shaped cutout at the top, along with a flat display, and uniform bezels.

Apple’s flagship includes flat sides all around, and considerably rounded corners. The OnePlus 10 Pro doesn’t exactly have flat sides, as both its front and back sides curve into the frame. Both phones have a camera island in the top-left corner, on their back sides. Those two setups do look quite different, though. The OnePlus 10 Pro’s curves into the phone’s frame, while the iPhone’s is more regular-looking, with a recognizable camera placement.

The OnePlus 10 Pro is a considerably larger phone than the iPhone 14 Pro. It is considerably taller and wider, while it’s also a bit heavier. That’s not surprising considering it has a considerably larger display. Despite all that, however, it’s lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro. Why? Well, the main reason is the use of stainless steel on the iPhone 14 Pro. The OnePlus 10 Pro is only 5 grams heavier, but it is considerably larger, so… that’s surprising. Both devices are water and dust resistant (IP68 certification), while they’re both quite slippery.

OnePlus 10 Pro vs Apple iPhone 14 Pro: Display

The OnePlus 10 Pro features a 6.7-inch QHD+ (3216 x 1440) LTPO2 Fluid AMOLED display. That panel can project up to 1 billion colors, and it has a 120Hz refresh rate. It also supports HDR10+ content, and it’s curved. We’re looking at a 20:9 display aspect ratio here, while this panel gets up to 1,300 nits of brightness at its peak. It is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus, by the way.

The iPhone 14 Pro, on the other hand, includes a 6.1-inch 2556 x 1179 LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display. This display is also flat, and it has a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports HDR10 content, and has Dolby Vision support too. The iPhone 14 Pro’s panel gets up to 2,000 nits of brightness at its peak. It has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and it is protected by Ceramic Shield glass.

Both of these displays are utterly excellent. The iPhone 14 Pro does have one major advantage, though, its brightness. It does get considerably brighter in direct sunlight, so if you do spend a lot of time outdoors, under the sun, that may play a huge role for you. If not, both displays are on par. They offer vivid colors, with great viewing angles, and those deep blacks. The touch response is good on both panels.

OnePlus 10 Pro vs Apple iPhone 14 Pro: Performance

The OnePlus 10 Pro is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. That SoC is combined with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 flash storage. The iPhone 14 Pro comes with the Apple A16 Bionic SoC, and 6GB of RAM. NVMe storage is also a part of the package. Both phones do look quite powerful on paper, but what are they like in real-life performance? Well, excellent, actually.

Both of these phones are buttery smooth when it comes to day-to-day performance. They can multitasking really fast, and are excellent for browsing, consuming multimedia, image editing, and so on. When it comes to gaming, both phones do a really good job, even with the most demanding games out there. The iPhone 14 Pro may have a slight edge when it comes to performance, but that’s not something you’ll really notice.

OnePlus 10 Pro vs Apple iPhone 14 Pro: Battery

The OnePlus 10 Pro includes a 5,000mAh battery, while the iPhone 14 Pro has a 3,200mAh unit. Not only is the OnePlus 10 Pro a much larger phone, but iPhones usually have smaller batteries than their Android counterparts. They consume less battery on a daily basis, so it all adds up. Both phones do offer really good battery life, actually.

We’ve managed to cross the 8-hour screen-on-time mark on the OnePlus 10 Pro on a number of occasions, while the iPhone 14 Pro can get you around 7 hours of screen-on-time. It all depends on your usage. If you’re a gamer, you can expect lower numbers than this, that’s for sure. Your installed apps, usage of the device, and your signal all play a role in battery consumption, so your mileage may vary.

As far as charging is concerned, the OnePlus 10 Pro is a clear winner. The phone supports 80W (65W in the US) wired, and 50W wireless charging, in addition to reverse wireless charging. The iPhone 14 Pro supports 20W wired, 15W MagSafe wireless, and 7.5W Qi wireless charging. OnePlus’ handset does come with a charging brick in the box, while the iPhone 14 Pro does not.

OnePlus 10 Pro vs Apple iPhone 14 Pro: Cameras

The OnePlus 10 Pro comes with a 48-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit, and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera. The iPhone 14 Pro has a 48-megapixel main unit, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera. Do note that the OnePlus 10 Pro’s ultrawide camera offers a considerably higher FoV than the iPhone 14 Pro’s.

OnePlus 10 Pro AM AH 11

Having said that, both phones do a great job when it comes to photos. The images from the OnePlus 10 Pro do look a bit more saturated, and the colors do pop a bit more. The iPhone 14 Pro images tend to look closer to real-life. The iPhone 14 Pro does have more of a tendency to overblow highlights in extreme situations, but it also focuses quicker than the OnePlus 10 Pro. The ultrawide camera performance is great on both devices. We do prefer the images from the iPhone 14 Pro’s ultrawide camera, but the FoV from the OnePlus 10 Pro.

When it comes to low light, they’re both excellent, but different. The iPhone 14 Pro images are darker and closer to real-life, while the OnePlus 10 Pro love to brighten them up quite a bit. The video recording is better on the iPhone 14 Pro, there’s no doubt about it. The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are definitely the best phones for video recording on the market.

Audio

Both of these phones include a set of stereo speakers. They’re both quite good. They’re loud, and quite detailed, while the lows, mids, and highs are well-balanced. These are definitely not the best speakers we’ve seen on a phone, but they’re more than good enough, in both cases.

What you will not find on either phone is an audio jack. You can still use their charging ports for audio purposes, though. The OnePlus 10 Pro includes a Type-C USB port, while the iPhone 14 Pro comes with a Lightning port. The OnePlus 10 Pro supports Bluetooth 5.2, while the iPhone 14 Pro comes with Bluetooth 5.3 support.
