The two phones we’ll compare today are direct competitors in the market, very much so. We’ll compare the Samsung Galaxy S22+ vs the OnePlus 10 Pro. The OnePlus 10 Pro is the best the company has to offer at the moment, while the Galaxy S22+ is inferior to the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but it’s still immensely powerful, and a flagship-grade smartphone. Speaking of which, we’ve already compared the ‘Ultra’ model to the OnePlus 10 Pro, in case you’re interested.
That being said, the Galaxy S22+ and the OnePlus 10 Pro are actually quite similar in some aspects. They do share some of their internals, and have a similar price tag, while they also have similar build materials. The two phones are also somewhat similar in size, though there are some differences in that aspect as well. We’ll kick things off by listing their specifications, and will take it from there. Let’s start with the Samsung Galaxy S22+ vs OnePlus 10 Pro comparison, shall we?

Samsung Galaxy S22+ vs OnePlus 10 Pro: Design
Both of these smartphones are made out of metal and glass, and both are quite large. Their display sizes are also quite similar, though the Galaxy S22+’s is a bit smaller, by 0.1 inches. The Galaxy S22+ is a bit shorter than the OnePlus 10 Pro, but it’s noticeably wider. It’s also a bit slimmer at 7.6mm compared to the 8.6mm of the OnePlus 10 Pro. The Galaxy S22+ is slightly lighter at 195/196 grams compared to 201 grams of the OnePlus 10 Pro. That’s not really the difference you’ll feel, though.
The Galaxy S22+ is more slippery than the OnePlus 10 Pro in the hand. The black OnePlus 10 Pro that we reviewed does have an interesting pattern on the back which makes it a bit more grippy than you’d think. Considering that it’s also narrower than the Galaxy S22+, that makes it easier to use with one hand, that’s for sure. Neither phone is really one-hand-friendly, though, due to their overall size.
Both smartphones have thin bezels and a display camera hole. That hole is in a different spot on these two phones, as it’s centered on the Galaxy S22+, but not on the OnePlus 10 Pro. The OnePlus 10 Pro has a curved display, compared to a flat one on the Galaxy S22+. Both smartphones include three cameras on the back and the rear camera island on the OnePlus 10 Pro is kind of inspired by the Galaxy S21 and S22 setups. It looks like it spills from the phone’s frame. The design itself is different, though, as you can see.
These two smartphones feel very premium in the hand, both of them. If you don’t mind larger devices, they will both do just fine in terms of the design. The OnePlus 10 Pro is grippier, and more narrow, though. Do note that every variant of the Galaxy S22+ offers IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. Only the T-Mobile variant of the OnePlus 10 Pro does the same.
Samsung Galaxy S22+ vs OnePlus 10 Pro: Display
The Galaxy S22+ features a 6.6-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. That is a flat display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and it does support HDR10+ content. That panel gets immensely bright at 1,750 nits of peak brightness. Do note that you’ll be able to achieve that only under the automatic brightness setting. The display itself is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus+.
The OnePlus 10 Pro, on the other hand, features a 6.7-inch QHD+ (3216 x 1440) LTPO2 Fluid AMOLED display. That display can project up to 1 billion colors, and it is a 120Hz panel. It does support HDR10+ content, and it is curved. This panel gets quite bright as well, at up to 1,300 nits of brightness. The OnePlus 10 Pro’s panel is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus. These two displays offer different aspect ratios, as the OnePlus 10 Pro’s is taller.
Both of these displays are truly excellent. If you’re planning to use it in direct sunlight often, the Galaxy S22+’s panel is probably a better choice, even though both get quite bright. They’re both immensely vivid, and they offer great viewing angles. The blacks are also completely dark, as these are AMOLED panels we’re talking about. The OnePlus 10 Pro’s panel is sharper, but both are more than sharp enough. The refresh rate does help them both feel more fluid, while touch sensitivity is great on both.
Samsung Galaxy S22+ vs OnePlus 10 Pro: Performance
The first thing to note here is that the Galaxy S22+ comes in two SoC variants. The Exynos model is sold in Europe, while the Snapdragon variant is used everywhere else, basically. The Exynos variant of the phone had quite a few issues since launch, but it seems like the latest updates managed to improve things considerably. The Snapdragon variant performed really well from the get-go.
Having said that, both the Galaxy S22+ and the OnePlus 10 Pro include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Both phones do get quite warm because of it, during longer gaming sessions, but that’s not something you should worry about. That did not affect the performance of either device. Both of them actually perform admirably, no matter what you throw at them. They can multitask without a problem, consume multimedia, browse, and do various other things with ease, including gaming.
Both companies decided to utilize LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage, which also helps the performance, of course. Android 12 comes pre-installed on both devices, though with a considerably different skin on top of Google’s OS. Both phones are really well-optimized in both software and hardware departments. You’ll be happy with either one when performance is concerned.
Samsung Galaxy S22+ vs OnePlus 10 Pro: Battery
The Galaxy S22+ features a 4,500mAh battery, while the OnePlus 10 Pro comes with a 5,000mAh unit. The OnePlus 10 Pro does have a larger battery, but the Galaxy S22+ has a lower-res display, which is also slightly smaller. In the end, both smartphones do end up offering really good battery life, which is comparable. Do note that we’ve used the Snapdragon variant of the Galaxy S22+.
Both of these phones can deliver around 6-7 hours of screen-on-time, depending on your usage. In our experience, it wasn’t really a problem to get to around 6.5 hours, though we didn’t really play many games on them, especially not graphically-intensive ones. Your mileage may vary considerably, though, as that’s the case when it comes to battery life, there are simply too many factors to consider.
The OnePlus 10 Pro definitely wins the charging game. The Galaxy S22+ supports 45W wired, 15W wireless, and 5W reverse wireless charging. The OnePlus 10 Pro, on the other hand, offers 80W (65W in the US) wired charging, in addition to 50W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. The OnePlus 10 Pro can be charged up considerably faster, even its wireless charging is faster than the Galaxy S22+’s wired charging, presuming you have OnePlus’ wireless charging stand.
Samsung Galaxy S22+ vs OnePlus 10 Pro: Cameras
Both the Galaxy S22+ and the OnePlus 10 Pro include three cameras on the back and one on the front. They include different sensors, but the camera types are the same. Both phones include a wide-angle main camera, while the other two cameras are ultrawide and telephoto ones. The Galaxy S22+ has a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide one, and a 10-megapixel telephoto one. The OnePlus 10 Pro utilizes a 48-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide one, and an 8-megapixel telephoto unit.
Now, both smartphones take really impressive images in good lighting, during the day. The images end up well-balanced, with plenty of detail, good colors, and excellent dynamic range. Both phones tend to boost saturation a bit, but not too much, which does result in some really nice-looking shots. We did prefer colors from the OnePlus 10 Pro, though, as Hasselblad’s color tuning really does show here. The Galaxy S22+ definitely includes a better telephoto camera, though. When it comes to the ultrawide camera, you can get a wider FoV with the OnePlus 10 Pro, though do note that you’ll get that fisheye effect.
In low light, both phones can hold their own. Both can pull out a lot of details from the shadows, thanks to their dedicated night modes. If you want, you can even make images look more like day than night with both devices. They both try to keep noise at a minimum. Night shots are less consistent than daytime ones, of course, but both do a great job.
Audio
Both the Galaxy S22+ and the OnePlus 10 Pro feature stereo speakers. Neither of the two phones includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, though. Those stereo speakers are really good on both phones, and there are two speakers included on each. The Galaxy S22+ can provide slightly louder audio output, and it also does seem to be slightly sharper, but that’s not as noticeable. Both sets of speakers do what they’re meant to do, though.
Instead of a 3.5mm headphone jack, you can always utilize a Type-C USB port, which is included on both phones. If you don’t prefer a wired connection, there’s always Bluetooth, as both smartphones support Bluetooth 5.2.
