The Jabra Elite 7 Pro are the most expensive pair of truly wireless earbuds that the company sells. Which is a bit surprising, but the real question is how do they stack up, and should you spend nearly $200 on these earbuds? When you can get something like the Jabra Elite 3 for almost a quarter of the price.
Surprisingly, there is no regular or vanilla version of the Elite 7. There is just the Jabra Elite 7 Pro and Elite 7 Active. Of course, the Elite 7 Active is made more for those that are going to use them while running, or working out. While these, the Elite 7 Pro, will focus more on the audio quality.
Let’s find out of the Jabra Elite 7 Pro are worth the price in this review.
Fit & comfort
Jabra’s earbuds are some of the most comfortable earbuds that I have ever used. That were not AirPods or AirPods clones. That’s because Jabra’s earbuds are usually smaller than others from makers like Samsung, Sony, or even Google. So they fit better in your ears and you can actually wear them for hours on end without getting ear fatigue.
That is still the case with the Jabra Elite 7 Pro. I’ve worn them for a solid 4-5 hours every day for the past week. To use them to listen to music and podcasts while working. And I never suffered from ear fatigue.
Like with every pair of earbuds, Jabra does indeed include a few different sets of ear tips. So you can choose which ones you want to use, and get the best fit possible. I’d recommend checking them all out. As I thought the ones installed out of the box were great, but put on the ones a size down, and they felt even more comfortable.
Can you wear them while working out?
Most of Jabra’s earbuds are great for the gym. The Elite 7 Pro’s are rated at IP57 which is actually higher than a lot of other earbuds on the market these days. So that they are going to be water and sweat resistant. Meaning if you’re sweating a lot at the gym, you won’t need to worry about destroying your earbuds.
On top of that, the Jabra Elite 7 Pro earbuds are also really good at staying in your ears. I wore them for a few different workouts and they never fell out. Nor did they disconnect from having too much sweat on them. Which is also very important.
But how is the sound quality?
Of course, this is arguably the most important part of any pair of earbuds, and that is the sound quality. It’s good. You’re going to enjoy the sound quality coming out of these earbuds. And there’s very little audio bleed, which is not a surprise on a pair of earbuds at this price.
Audiophiles will likely notice that there is not a ton of bass available on these earbuds. However, if you go through the MySound setup in the Jabra app, it will adjust the EQ to your ears and personalize it. After doing this, I noticed there was a lot more bass available on the Elite 7 Pro earbuds. Which was really nice. So it’s a good idea to go through and do the MySound setup.
The volume can get pretty high before it starts to crack or sound distorted. The max was around 80%. Which is quite loud for a pair of truly wireless earbuds.
The Jabra Sound+ app
If you do buy the Jabra Elite 7 Pro earbuds, downloading the Sound+ app is a must. It gives you a bunch of options for adjusting your audio and earbuds on the Elite 7 Pro. That includes using Active Noise Cancellation, using HearThrough (Jabra’s name for ambient sound), or turning it off completely.
The app is also used to make sure you have the best fit for your earbuds, and the best sound quality. Jabra will also let you choose which assistant you want to use – Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
Battery life is some of the best in the business
Jabra has always had some really incredible battery life on its earbuds and with the Elite 7 Pro, that’s no different. Jabra claims around eight hours of continuous playback on these. And in our testing, that’s about what we got. We got around seven and a half hours before we charged them. And there was still some juice left.
Of course, your mileage will vary depending on the volume, what you’re listening to, etc. For example, listening to podcasts all day will use less battery than listening to Hip-Hop all day at full volume.
Should I buy the Jabra Elite 7 Pro?
If you are in the market for a new pair of truly wireless earbuds and don’t care about the special features that Pixel Buds provide to Pixel users, or Galaxy Buds to Samsung smartphone users, then the Elite 7 Pro are a great fit. They are pretty pricey at $199, but we feel that they are worth the price.
Jabra’s earbuds are always very comfortable, have great audio quality, and have impressive battery life. Jabra delivered once again with the Elite 7 Pro earbuds.
