Samsung announced plenty of new gadgets today. In addition to introducing its new foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, and the Galaxy Watch 6 smartwatch, the company announced three new tablets. We’ve already covered the launch of the Galaxy Tab S9 series in our announcement post, and we’re here to do a deep dive into their specifications.

The Galaxy Tab S9 tablets are here, and here’s a closer look at their specifications

To clarify, Samsung announced three tablets today, the Galaxy Tab S9, S9+, and S9 Ultra. These three tablets differ in terms of size, battery capacity, and more. We’ll cover the specs of all three in one article, going from one category to the next. We’ll first cover the differences between them.

The Galaxy Tab S9, S9+, and S9 Ultra have different displays. The base model includes an 11-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate (adaptive 60-120Hz refresh rate). The other two displays are basically the same, but are different in terms of size. The ‘Plus’ model comes with a 12.4-inch panel, while the ‘Ultra’ model includes a 14.6-inch display.

The Galaxy Tab S9 comes in 8GB and 12GB RAM models, along with 128GB and 256GB of storage, respectively. The ‘Plus’ variant has the same storage options, but both of them include 12GB of RAM. The same goes for the ‘Ultra’ model, with the addition of a 16GB RAM model with 1TB of storage. All three tablets offer microSD storage expansion of up to 1TB.

They differ in the battery department too

As already mentioned, we’re looking at different batteries here. The Galaxy Tab S9 has an 8,400mAh battery, the ‘Plus’ variant includes a 10,090mAh battery, while the ‘Ultra’ model has an 11,200mAh battery.

The last few differences between the three sit in the camera department, and of course size and weight. The base model has a single 13-megapixel camera on the back, while the ‘Plus’ and ‘Ultra’ models include that camera, plus an 8-megapixel ultrawide unit.

The differences apply to the front-facing cameras too. The base and ‘Plus’ models have a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera on the front, while the ‘Ultra’ model takes that camera, and adds a second 12-megapixel camera to it.

The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is the largest, and the heaviest of them all

The Galaxy Tab S9 measures 165.8 x 254.3 x 5.9mm, and it weighs 498 grams (Wi-Fi only). The ‘Plus’ model measures 185.4 x 285.4 x 5.7mm, while it weighs 581 grams (Wi-Fi model) / 586 grams (5G model). The ‘Ultra’ variant measures 208.6 x 326.4 x 5.5mm, and it weighs 732 grams (Wi-Fi only).

All three tablets ship with Android 13 out of the box, and all three of them are fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. They support 5G connectivity, and Bluetooth 5.3 as well. Quad stereo speakers can be found inside of these tablets, and they’re tuned by AKG.

There is an in-display fingerprint scanner present in all tablets, while all of them also come with an S Pen. The Galaxy Tab S9 series tablets are available in Beige and Graphite color variants.
