As always, Samsung has announced the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will come in a number of colors. There’s four colors that the device will be available in from every retailer, plus a few more that are exclusive to Samsung.com.
For everyone, everywhere, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will come in Graphite, Cream, Lavender and Mint colors. The only new addition this year appears to be the Mint color. Which is a really nice looking color, to be quite honest.
Over at Samsung.com, you’ll have the option to pick up the Galaxy Z Flip 5 in these colors: Gray, Blue, Green and Yellow.
Galaxy Z Flip 5 is a bigger upgrade than it appears
On the outside looking in, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 doesn’t look like it’s a big upgrade compared to its predecessor. There’s two big changes on the Galaxy Z Flip 5. That’s the hinge, and the new Flex Window.
No longer is Samsung calling it a “Cover Screen” on the Galaxy Z Flip 5, it’s now called the “Flex Window”. It’s a 3.4-inch display on the front of the phone that allows you to run full apps. However, not every app is available to run on that screen. According to Samsung, a handful of apps are available now, including Google Messages, YouTube and WhatsApp. But there are also a number of full-screen widgets you can add here.
Then there’s the hinge. Samsung redid the hinge this year, which makes it smaller, and thus the entire thickness of the phone is thinner now. But it also means that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 (and Galaxy Z Fold 5) can now fold completely flat. That’s a big deal, and honestly, about time. Just about every other foldable has been able to fold flat for quite some time, so it’s about time Samsung joined the party.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is available for pre-order today and it will start arriving on doorsteps on August 11. It starts at $999.
