Now that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 has been announced, how much does it cost? Well, there’s good news on that front. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 5 is keeping the same price as its predecessor.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 will cost you $999 for 256GB of storage. Which is where even more good news comes into play. Despite doubling the storage here (really, they are just killing off the 128GB model), the price is sticking to $999 to start.
Samsung will continue to offer the 512GB model, which will retail for $1,059. The same as the 256GB Galaxy Z Flip 4. That’s definitely good news, in a world where the price of everything is going up, and we’re even hearing rumors of a price increase for the new iPhone.
What do you get for $999?
For $999, you’re getting a pretty powerful flip phone from Samsung. This includes the same 6.7-inch 120Hz display as always, but now we have a larger Flex Window on the front. It’s 3x larger this year, coming in at 3.4-inches. This larger display is going to allow you to run apps on the front display without opening the phone. Samsung has also included some full-page widgets. Giving you more data on that front display, so you won’t need to open the phone as much.
Internally, Samsung is using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, the same chipset that’s in the Galaxy S23 series. It’s basically the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 you know from other phones, but the one specific to Samsung is going to be overclocked, slightly. It will clock in at 3.36GHz versus the 3.2GHz that other Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones get.
It also has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage on-board. And as mentioned, there is a 512GB model as well. It does still have a 3700mAh capacity battery, but as we’ve seen with the recent Snapdragon chipsets, battery life is much improved with the Snapdragon 8 series. So battery life should not be a problem.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 open today and will arrive on August 11.
