The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 remains the company’s most expensive smartphone ever. And that’s not counting any special editions like a Bespoke edition or a gold edition.

Having said that, here’s how much the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will cost you. It starts at $1,799 for the 256GB model which does come with 12GB of RAM. Samsung is also selling a 512GB model for $1,919, and a 1TB model for $2,159. Keep in mind that there is still no micro SD card slot available for the Galaxy Z Fold 5, so make sure you get the storage you need.

Samsung is also selling the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in three colors: Icy Blue, Phantom Black and Cream. And has a number of first-party cases available, including a new S-Pen cover which is now thinner thanks to the S Pen being about 41% thinner.

So what do you get for $1,799?

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 has always gotten a lot of flack for costing $1,799. But the thing to remember here is that you are paying for a phone and a tablet, in one. You’ve got the outer display, which you can use for most things, and then when you need a larger display, you can open it up and use the 7.6-inch main display, as a tablet. Even though it is mostly a square aspect ratio.

Inside the Galaxy Z Fold 5, there is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, powering the show. This is the same processor that powers the Galaxy S23 lineup, which Samsung announced earlier in the year. It also has 12GB of RAM inside.

Additionally, Samsung has heard your complaints about the displays being tough to read outdoors. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 now has a peak brightness of 1750 nits on the main display. Now, we’ll have to wait and see how that works when it comes to having that plastic screen protector on the display. As that is naturally reflective already.
