If there's one design feature we can't get enough of this year, it's tile—and Fixer Upper star, decor trendsetter, and interior designer extraordinaire Joanna Gaines knows exactly how to bring it into your home.

In a series of photos she posted on Instagram, Gaines showed off "the final photos of Lakehouse" (as she specified in the caption) with a collection of vertical photos taken while she was filming her most recent home makeover show, Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse.

It's true that tile designs (in any capacity) never go out of style, but Gaines has the ability to make any room pop with a subtle tile statement. In the first photo on the Instagram carousel, the floors feature a beautiful terracotta-colored tile separated by white stars.

The third slide shows a wall of black subway tiles, which is one of the more popular (and timeless) tiling trends, but she puts a twist on the typical subway tile style by making the tiles black and the grout white. It creates a classic look with a modern update that allows the wall to define the spaces. That same style is mirrored with black square tiles that cover the inside of a cabinet in the fourth photo Gaines shared.

The fifth photo shows the same size and style of the black square cabinet tiles—but this time, the tiles are off-white, and the grout is dark red. The color scheme allows the bathroom to look far more open while maintaining the tile shape in other rooms, making the entire house cohesive. Those square tiles carry into the kitchen in a gorgeous deep green with white grout.

We see some massive black-and-white tiles in the entryway a few photos later. Gaines puts a modern twist on checkerboard flooring by not making all of the squares uniform sizes. Finally, there's one last tiled image—yellow square tiles surrounding a big, deep sink.

The use of tile throughout the home provides consistency and a classic feel without relinquishing any playfulness. If you want to see the tiling in action and haven't already watched the show, you still have the chance to binge.

“Thank you for your support and your kind words about this project,” Gaines wrote in her Instagram post, noting that you can check out the series on HBO Max, the Magnolia Network, HGTV, and Discovery Plus.
