One dad is revealing his family's budget when it comes to shopping for their six kids.

In June, Sergio Gonzalez shared an Instagram video displaying a lengthy receipt from a Trader Joe's in Westlake, California, detailing his family's grocery list, which included items like turkey corn dogs, yogurt and steak, all totaling $444.38.

"Feeding Six kids 🧒 🧒🧒🧒🧒👶🏻 @traderjoes," the father captioned the video.

Shortly after, the video was reshared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Since then, the X video has amassed over 17.6 million views and 15,000 comments, with people chiming in on the cost. Many disagreed with the father of six, suggesting his total wasn't exorbitant.

"I have 4 and my weekly grocery bill is significantly more," one user commented. "Yeah that’s cheap for a week for 8 people," someone else commented on the post.

Another comment said, "I have 5 kids and this is about 50-60% of my weekly total grocery bills."

"Where did he get rib eye steak for $7.27 and NY steak for $5.59? Where I live (SF Bay Area) you would pay at least twice as much, and that's for the cheapest kind," replied another user.

But, despite the disagreement, other's sided with Gonzalez, claiming the receipt was expensive and suggested ways the family could potentially cut down their bill.

"4 kids here, home cooked dinner nearly every day, simple prep breakfasts (healthiest cereal, yogurts, fruit etc we can find) Half the time full lunch menus, other half just a snack basically," another dad wrote.

"We spend around 1200+ a month on food. To be honest, its more time consuming, but when shopping by week its cheaper and less waste," the comment continued. "But hard to shop every week. Few years ago we averaged 7-900 a month. Kids are 14,9,5,4."

Since the Trader Joe's receipt went viral, Gonzalez continued to share glimpses into more of his family's grocery spending. In July, he posted a video of a Costco receipt that totaled $1,239.08.

"Dad life feeding six kids at @costco 😅," he wrote.
