Bolton cruised to their third win in a row by beating Northampton at Sixfields.
The visitors led after just six minutes when a slick move saw them go from back to front in double quick time, ending with John McAtee finishing first-time from Szabolcs Schon’s low cross.
Kyle Dempsey whizzed an effort narrowly wide while Nathan Baxter was down smartly to save from Mitch Pinnock at the other end.
But Bolton continued to dominate and they had their second midway through the first half when George Thomason lifted the ball over Lee Burge after being sent through by Josh Sheehan.
A super stop from Baxter denied Pinnock for a second time before Eoin Toal converted Sheehan’s corner on the hour mark to put the result beyond doubt.
Bolton continued to create chances and they were stretched their lead further when substitute Dion Charles scampered away and easily beat Burge.
To their credit, Northampton kept plugging away and they were rewarded with two goals in stoppage-time, Tom Eaves nodding home McGowan’s cross before Jon Guthrie powerfully headed in a corner.
