Not To Be Dramatic, But People Are Literally Begging Democrats To Stand Up For Americans Following The Supreme Court's "Immunity" Ruling

"The Dems, empowered by today's new rules to do literally whatever they want, will instead play by old rules that never actually existed." —@JasonKirk_fyi

This week, the US Supreme Court ruled that former president Donald Trump has immunity from prosecution for official acts he took during his presidency.

Not only does this decision broaden how presidential power and immunity from prosecution were perceived, but it also potentially sweeps away the chances of Trump going to trial for his actions during the January 6 insurrection.

In response to SCOTUS' decision, Biden warned that Trump may be “more emboldened to do whatever he wants” and suggested he will not utilize these powers himself, saying, “I know I will respect the limits of presidential power as I have for the three-and-a-half years, but any president, including Donald Trump, will now be free to ignore the law.”

This sentiment, however, does not seem to be what a large part of his base wants to hear, as many have expressed their dismay over his lack of action. Here's how people are reacting:

    1.

The reason folks feel dread right now is because we’ve know Biden and the Democratic Party are incapable of rising to the occasion.

everyone is screaming for Democrats to fight back and DO SOMETHING but nancy already stood up and pointed her finger at trump in a meeting that one time so they've exhausted all their options.

The saddest thing is that in any other country, this would be a monumental mistake on the part of the opposition. You don't drop a decision like this when your opponents actually hold office lmao

Joe Biden really has an opportunity to do some crazy shit in the next few months.

But he won't. We all know he won't. But goddamn I wish he would.

Biden saying he would never exploit the immunity ruling while the Republicans are somewhere rubbing their hands together, thinking of all the ways they can do exactly that, is a perfect illustration of why the democratic party in so ineffective.

Basically being given the power of a monarch and Biden simply saying “I dissent” and “vote harder” is EXACTLY how I saw that going.

Would removing and jailing a Supreme Court Justice for accepting millions of dollars in unreported bribes be considered an “official act”?

The President rightly describes this as an historic, catastrophic decision that endangers our democracy. He took no questions. He promised no action.
