Your parents' marriage can really have an effect on you. Whether you were surrounded by a healthy, loving marriage...
...or your parents split up at some point — studies have shown that both types of marriages could affect kids' future relationships.
I'm turning to the married people of the BuzzFeed Community to ask: How is your marriage different from your parents?
Maybe you grew up with parents who stayed in a loveless marriage. You knew you never wanted that for yourself so you make it a point to express how you're feeling to your partner if something is upsetting you.
Perhaps your marriage is different from your parents' solely for the fact that you and your partner divide up the household chores. This is different from your parents who were more traditional in the sense that your dad was the breadwinner and your mom was the only one who took care of things around the house.
Or maybe your parents got married at a really young age and your marriage didn't happen until much later in life.
