    On Sunday, July 21, President Joe Biden announced on social media that he was suspending his 2024 reelection campaign and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidency.

    Much remains for the new Democratic frontrunner before the forthcoming election. Harris has to select a running mate and secure the Democratic nomination.

    Should she become the party's official nominee, there will likely be debates against Republican challenger and former president Donald Trump and his vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance before Election Day on Nov. 5.

    The nomination also directly impacts late-night shows, like Saturday Night Live, that poke fun at politics. Harris will likely be impersonated when the series returns for Season 50 in September, as she has been many times before. In fact, following Biden's endorsement of Harris, Twitter users were quick to speculate and joke about what her campaign might mean for Maya Rudolph.
