Meagan Good is opening up about her relationship with Jonathan Majors.
Meagan and Jonathan were first linked romantically in May of last year, according to People.
The reports sparked controversy at the time, given that a couple of months prior, in March, Jonathan was arrested on suspicion of strangulation, assault, and harassment following a dispute with his now-ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
Grace alleged in a complaint obtained by BuzzFeed that Jonathan had struck her “about the face with an open hand, causing substantial pain and a laceration behind her ear.”
Jonathan was involved in a months-long legal trial, and in December, he was found guilty of two charges in court: misdemeanor assault in the third degree and harassment in the second degree.
Jonathan was not found guilty of intentional misdemeanor assault in the third degree or misdemeanor aggravated harassment in the second degree.
When host Hoda Kotb asked Meagan if her friends “advised” to “wait to see how everything shapes out” with Jonathan’s legal trial before dating him, she replied, “Uh, yeah, every friend advised me.”
“But at the end of the day, one thing I know is I can always look myself in the mirror when I trust my spirit when I trust God...and when I move to the beat of my own drum, I can always look and say, ‘I’m proud of that,’” she said.
“No matter whatever happens, I have peace in my heart, and I have harmony in my heart,” she continued.
Meagan said that she definitely takes her loved ones’ opinions and advice “into account.”
“At the end of the day, I’m the one who has to live my life, and who has to get to Heaven one day, prayerfully, and so I wanna be responsible for the choices that I make. And I also wanna live the life that I wanna live,” she said.
