Is this the right thing to say immediately after an attempted assassination? Even President Biden, who has been a strong critic of Trump, stated, "There is no place in America for such violence. It must never happen again."
Despite this, Zenba and Yabunaka seemed more concerned about the potential electoral advantage for Trump than showing anger towards this direct attack on democracy.
As Zenba herself stated, although it is still under investigation, it is highly likely that this incident was an attempt to "disrupt the election, which is the foundation of democracy, through violence." Despite this, they seem more concerned about whether the incident might give Trump an advantage in the election rather than showing anger towards this direct attack on democracy.
I believe that the "attack on the foundation of democracy through violence" is far more dangerous and a greater threat to democracy than the possibility of a disliked individual gaining an advantage in the election due to an attempted assassination.
Therefore, I completely disagree with the comments made by the two on "Sunday Morning."
