Infinity Ward Brings In Pro-Glitchers For Modern Warfare 3 QA
If you've been cautious about Modern Warfare 3 because of the last two Call of Duty outings (i.e., uber lag and multiplayer glitches) then you might take some respite in knowing that Infinity Ward has brought in some pro-glitchers and instead of letting them find glitches for three days like they did with Modern Warfare 2 they’re letting them find glitches for a whole week in order to improve the quality assurance. Woot!
According to Kotaku, the group known as mapMonkeys has been hired in by Infinity Ward to play-test and find glitches in the game. The leader of the group, Rezzzo, stated that…
No buddy, you’re doing Infinity Ward’s job for them since people over at Activision don’t seem entirely competent at designing a workable game on half-decade old technology.
On the upside, it’s good that one of the many developers working on Modern Warfare 3 want to at least ensure that a repeat of what happened with Black Ops and the awful quality assurance doesn’t happen again with Modern Warfare 3…well, on the glitch side of things. They’ll still have to work out the lag issues, the frame-rate stutters and the weapon balance.
Some gamers around the community feel that mapMonkey may take this opportunity to find secret exploits and save them for later, while others feel that Infinity Ward took a step in the right direction to at least subdue some of the glitches that plagued the multiplayer components of Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops.
I’m just glad the heads behind Modern Warfare 3 are at least pouring time and energy into the quality assurance this time around and maybe we won’t end up with a half-broken product on the PS3 and PC.
