Spock the Rhodesian Bernard at 8 years old—"Spock was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with another survived female sibling. His dad is a purebred St. Bernard and his mom is a purebred Rhodesian Ridgeback. Spock has a very good temperament especially around people. Although he is strong willed, he does not make a fuss if he does not get what he wants. Physically he is strong, tall, muscular but gentle. He paces and moves gracefully like a lion (but behaves like a puppy mostly at home). Absolutely loves his daily walk and run. With his weight over 90lbs and taller than most dogs, he does intimidate some people, but at the same time attracts many to come to know him."
The Rhodesian Bernard is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Rhodesian Ridgeback and the Saint Bernard. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

Sheba the Rhodesian Bernard as a 6-month-old puppy—"My Lab walks under her without her even feeling it. She has a lovely temperament, loving, good fun and clever. She won't pull on the lead unless she see's another dog or cat. Which is just as well as she is very very strong."
