A Rufous Breasted Accentor on the hillside

A small passerine bird around 15 cms long and found in the Montane forests in the Himalayas and parts of Bhutan and China. These are beautiful birds that behave in a skulking manner and seen foraging in the bushes on the hilly slopes. We were lucky to get this nice shot since the bird was on higher elevation above us.

These are found in the pine forests with Rhodendron scrub looking for insects, worms and the wild berries found in the bushes. One interesting thing is that they are double brooded - meaning they nest twice in a season. I am aware of a Kingfisher (Black Backed Dwarf Kingfisher) which does that, but I don't know many birds who lay two broods in a season.'

Many thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.
