Washington Square. Greenwich Village. New York City.

I’d been walking for several hours and thought I was going to return home without a photograph. Then I spotted Will. We spoke awhile. We’re the same age. He spent 50 years as a professional portrait photographer. He showed me his work on his iPhone. His lighting technique was reminiscent of George Hurrell. Truly marvelous work. I showed him my tiny zine. He took his time looking though it before saying, “Today cameras do everything so every moron has one, but you’ve got an eye. I’m impressed”. Needless to say, Will made my day and I told him so. I gave him the zine so he has all my contact info. I hope he gets back in touch so I share this portrait with him.
