DR. FLORIAN KONGOLI - HONORARY CITIZEN OF RIO DE JANEIRO

In 2019, Dr. Florian Kongoli, Chairman of FLOGEN Stars Outreach, became the first Canadian and Scientist to receive the official title of Honorary Citizen of Rio de Janeiro. This honorary title was awarded to Dr. Kongoli in recognition of his major contributions in science and technology in the framework of sustainability. Congratulatory messages from the Canadian Ambassador in Brazil, Tohoku University president in Japan, and University of Montreal rector in Canada were sent to Dr. Kongoli. For this unique occasion, a documentary in multiple languages has been produced showcasing Dr. Kongoli’s numerous contributions, as well as about 1000 media outlets covered this news.

178 On 26 November 2019 Dr. Florian Kongoli, became Honorary Citizen of Rio de Janeiro in a Plenary Siting Ceremony of Rio de Janeiro City Hall based on the Legislative Decree No. 1901/2019 voted unanimously in the plenary session of 9 October 2019.
