The changeable weather conditions at Sunday’s British Grand Prix threw up a brilliantly exciting race for the fans, but made for a tough and draining afternoon at work for the team engineers and strategists who had to somehow navigate their way through the weather and try to ensure their drivers were on the right tyres at the right time in order to maximise their result.

It was a day when making the right call at the right time could see a driver make big gains – or miss out if they got it wrong.
