Larry David Gives Fans The Ultimate Comedy Experience With Tour
Comedian and Seinfeld co-creator Larry David certainly seems to be having an exceptional year, as the 77-year-old has been nabbing headlines left and right with the stunning conclusion of his long-running HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm. Now, it appears as though Larry David is not content to rest in retirement, as he has already announced a nationwide tour, per a post on Instagram. The tour, labelled “A Conversation with Larry David,” is on pace to hit 10 cities across the United States, beginning on September 20.
A Conversation With Larry David
The first stop on Larry David’s tour will take place in Denver, Colorado at the Paramount Theater, where he plans to discuss a wide array of topics in a loose, moderated forum. Each subsequent show will feature David’s unique blend of cringe comedy and social critique, as well as a question and answer portion, led by a series of different moderators local to the touring cities. Most dates are presented by Live Nation, and ticket pre-sales are set to begin on September 12.
A Relaxed Fit Outing
While there are surely a wide array of topics to be discussed during a live Larry David tour, obvious points of discussion include his time on Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and his brief but memorable stint as a writer on Saturday Night Live.
David, who is an outspoken critic of former president Donald Trump, is likely to weigh in on the election results as well, as the tour is scheduled to run throughout the culmination of the 2024 presidential election this November.
While politics will be on the minds of many attendees, the event has been billed as a relaxed, conversational, and comedic atmosphere, almost like a traveling performance of a late night talk show guest spot.
An Enthralling Waste Of Time
Larry David initially announced his tour with a humorous video on Instagram wherein he recommends his biggest fans and supporters do something more productive with their time, like bowling. In the video, David jokes that he hasn’t bowled in decades, but that he’s considering “hitting the lanes” rather than appearing at his own event. Utilizing his trademark blend of self deprecation and sarcasm, the comedian jests that the event will be a complete waste of the audiences time, which all but guarantees that fans of Curb Your Enthusiasm will be enthralled by the whole affair.
The Show Must Go On
For those who aren’t up to date on the HBO original series, Curb Your Enthusiasm officially concluded in April of this year, with a stunning finale titled “No Lessons Learned.” In the episode, Larry, who plays a fictionalized version of himself, encounters a myriad of previous Curb guest stars, each of whom lament the frustrations that they’ve dealt with in the comedian’s wake. As Larry David embarks upon his ambitious nationwide tour, it seems clear that the flurry of media attention brought on by the show’s finale has fueled his desire to continue performing.
Get Tickets While You Can
It is likely that many attendees of “A Conversation with Larry David” will film certain portions of the event with their phones and upload clips to social media, though the only way to really take in the full experience is by going. If you’re interested in hearing about the endless minutiae of frustrating social faux pas, be sure to check Larry David’s social media for tour dates and ticket info.
