The Resurrected

You made a pact with the Undying God when you died for the first time. By the will of the Undying god you have been made immortal, the Undying Curse seemed like a blessing, until you learned it's dark twist.

Undying Curse

The curse carries with it the capabilities of its last victim who was a warlock of great power. You gain limited pact magic and some of the warlocks features. When you die, the curse continues and moves your consciousness to an unsuspecting mundane humanoid within 500 ft, supplanting your personality, memories and abilities into that persons body and mind resulting in the permanent destruction of that person's personality and memories and abilities.

Your newly severed link to your last corpse reveals the corpse's whereabouts for the next 24 hrs, after which the link fades forever.

Spellcasting

When you choose this archetype at level three, you gain access to magical power; a boon granted by the Undying God.

Cunning Caster

You may cast Cantrips or use Eldritch Invocations as part of your Cunning Action feature.

Silent, Still, Empty Handed

In casting a spell you may choose to forego one of Verbal, Somatic, or Material components which are not consumed.

Cantrips

At third level, you learn one of Produce Flame, Thaumaturgy, or True Strike. The cantrip chosen will always be known and does not count against your total cantrips known. You learn additional Resurrected Cantrips of your choice at higher levels, as shown in the Resurrected Spellcasting table. Every time you gain another Cantrip, you may also swap one Cantrip you know for one from the Resurrected spell list.

Spells Known of 1st Level or Higher

At third level, you know three 1st level spells from the Resurrected spell list.

The Spells Known column of the Warlock table shows when you learn more warlock spells of your choice of 1st level or higher. A spell you choose must be of a level no higher than what's shown in the Resurrected Spellcasting table's Spell Slot Level column for your level. When you reach 13th level, for example, you learn a new warlock spell, which can be 1st, 2nd, or 3rd level.

Additionally, when you gain a level in this class, you can choose one of the warlock spells you know and replace it with another spell from the warlock spell list, which also must be of a level for which you have spell slots.

Spell Slots

All your spell slots are of the same level, as indicated by the Spell Slot Level column of the Resurrected Spellcasting table. You regain all spent spell slots when you finish a short or long rest.

Spellcasting Ability

Charisma is your spellcasting ability for the Resurrected Rogue Archetype.

  • Spell save DC = 8 + your charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus
  • Spell attack modifier = your charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus

When death came calling.....

The first time you died. You remember it like it was yesterday.

As the light left your eyes a new light replaced it, dark and Eldritch. You open your eyes and saw you were surrounded by hundreds of thousands of the fallen souls of the dead and before you all, the essence of the Undying God looming above you. The gods ethereal finger pointed directly at you as it spoke, its voice gripped your soul as it filled your mind.

"If you wish to return to the living, you shall serve me, as you shall choose me for your patron. You shall exist eternally, each time your weak, pathetic body inevitably dies you shall be resurrected, consequently destroying another's soul in the process. You shall never know true death."

Your voice, barely a whisper amongst the din of the dead, was heard clearly by the god, "Undying God, I accept this pact, other's souls in exchange for mine, for eternity."

You felt the grip of the Undying Gods curse tighten about you and you opened your eyes. You were no longer yourself, though you thought and felt the same as before, the new body you inhabited was strange and unusual to your senses. You now must live with the abject horror of the dreadful cost of immortality.
