Hello,
I have 5 nest cam battery and a nest doorbell. All hardwired. On June 5th around 9pm EST all of my cameras went offline. The doorbell still works. Yet since then I have not been able to get these devices back online. Anyone else have this bug with the latest update? Really upsetting me because I’ve been having a lot of issues with the WiFi pro and now the cameras add to the drama. Everything else functions on my network as intended. Speeds are great. Any one else experiencing this?

I talked to Google today.
Its a known bug thats been going around the last two weeks, it dont affect everyone… Google say it will be online by itself when they fix it, but dont know when that will be!

I’ve got the same fault - both (one indoor and one floodlight camera) still sending notifications and with history available but app shows them offline. I’ve also had my 3rd camera arrive today but I’m loathe to install it until this problem is fixed.

Same here. One Doorbell, two cameras, two thermostats offline. Doorbell records as it was on when this happened but cannot toggle them on/off anymore. It didnt happen all at once but going offline on by one in the last two days. Rebooting devices or router doesnt help. Non-Google devices working fine.
Not the first issue, I really hope I never invested anything in these.. Out of curiosity what routers do you have? I’ve got BT and it’s been causing issues with Google before, no issues with other devices though.

I don't think thermostats are affected with this bug tbh! U might have something else going on.
(unify networking devices here)

I had BT but switched to an Open reach Modem then hooked up nest wifi, I had no issues with BT boradband was just the speed. Until Friday when I moved to UPP fiber still running with nest routers but that's when my issues starting happening I thought it was my problem but seems now its a google error.

Hi. Strange gremlin has crept into my Google Home.
We have 2 battery doorbells, Google Home Hub Max and a wired Nest cam.
Home is reporting 1 doorbell, wired camera and hub as offline. All cameras are connected to Google Home WiFi with good signals. The doorbells are sending video to Nest Aware. The home hub is displaying a live video stream in the Nest App.
I have removed and replaced the doorbell, the wired camera has been rebooted. The WiFi has been restarted.
It seem the Home app can not display the video.

yeah - looks like a wonky update has knackered the live video function. Same problem here (and there’s a few threads on this now 🙃). Google seem awfully silent on the issue 😠

I am having exactly the same issue. Google WiFi connected and the WiFi is fine. Outdoor battery camera is offline but is recording video motion and uploading. Doorbell battery was the same.
Have since removed the doorbell and it won't find it to re-add it at all.
I've reset the WiFi and the doorbell and my router. No joy.

Same issue

I've just spent a hour on hold waiting to speak to support. When I got through they admitted there is a known issue that was spotted about an hour ago and they are working on it but don't know what the issue is yet.
Their official advice is to factory reset the devices and reads them but it may take several goes to re-add them. Also it's worth noting you will lose all video history for your devices so save important videos first before removing and resetting them. They didn't tell me this until after I'd reset one device!
I've reset removed and re-added both of mine. They are now online but we shall see if they stay that way.

A deletion of my wired Nest cam from home app, followed by resetting the cameras and re-adding has resolved the issue for me. This may only work for wired Nest cameras. Also be aware that resetting the camera will delete ALL data stored previously. I also have a battery doorbell but am unwilling to reset as I wish to keep the data.

All working fine now. MAGIC!

Guess we will Waite for google. Mean while now that our houses can get broken into with no proof

Hi,
I have 12 Nest cameras, 2 are the older outdoor wired type, the rest are a combination of outdoor Battery (with power supply) and indoor wired.
2 days ago, one of my outdoor battery cameras went offline, I've tried a soft reset (holding the button for 5-10 seconds) on the camera but no luck. The camera is still giving notifications, but I can't view a preview in the app. I've not yet tried a factory reset, I was hoping for a solution before losing all my video. 2 other outdoor battery cameras are working fine, they're all less than 12 months old.
During the night, 2 of my indoor wired cameras have gone offline. I've turned them off for several minutes and back on again but they're still showing offline. I have one other indoor wired camera which is currently working ok.
Any help would be appreciated.

Same here, nest doorbell and floodlight, different houses, UK, both offline, resetting them only gives me a a few mins before they go offline again, notifications are still recorded, please sort this Google!

phew!! went through the process of resetting the camera in the app. waste of time and stress.
stumbled on to this thread.
Google should have atleast notified about the update and the issues.

Removing and adding the device did the trick. Now the devices are online on the app
06-20-2023 04:10 AM
I guess you had to set up the devices again, and lost all your previous video?
06-20-2023 05:25 AM
Yes, that's correct. All history is gone.

Same as OP, Wi-Fi Nest Cams offline a few days ago, then last night the wired one went offline.
06-20-2023 02:38 PM
Well, everything is back as it was without having to do any drastic resets.
All restored as of 17:50 UK time 👍🏻

Woke this morning to a camera offline notification. Had a look in Google Home and said camera offline. I powered it off and back on and now wish I hadn't after more investigation.
It looks like it was recording and can see the history up until the point I did the power reset. Now I am still getting the notifications but the recordings are unavailable.
So how can the camera be offline if it was still recording and even collecting the history?
My old hardwired nest doorbell is still fully functional.
Based on all the reports below clearly there is a mass Google issue here.

Same here
06-20-2023 12:36 AM
I have the same situation, yesterday at in ther afternoon my doorbell went offline and when I arrived home i try to make it work again, so i restart the network, just because I did that my 6 other cameras went offline and now everything is offline
06-20-2023 12:56 AM
My camera devices have also gone offline over last 24 hours possibly due to a software 'upgrade'. They are still recording but cannot view live feed. In app says cameras are 'offline'.

Same here UK

Same here, just been through the usual restart the network, and restart the cameras and everything is "Offline". It is frustrating that the Google Nest Status page shows no issues, when there clearly is from this thread. 😞

The recent incident involving a camera outage lasting several hours has caused significant disruptions and concerns among users. The unexpected failure occurred during a critical period, impacting individuals and organizations relying heavily on the camera system for various purposes.
The camera outage initiated a series of challenges and inconveniences across different sectors. In public safety, law enforcement agencies heavily depend on surveillance cameras to ensure the security and well-being of citizens. With the cameras being non-operational, crime prevention and investigation efforts were hindered, leaving communities vulnerable and law enforcement officers handicapped.
