Kayaking the Sound
Puget Sound was created when the area's glaciers began their retreat about 14,000 years ago, leaving behind intricate patterns of islands, inlets, lakes, and shorelines. Today, Puget Sound is home to thousands of creatures, from killer whales and sea lions to sea anemones and sand dollars. Enjoy the rich ecosystem of Puget Sound on this two-hour kayaking tour. This is a great chance to see seals, sea lions, great herons, and more. The route of the tour will vary based on recent sightings of local wildlife. Whether you want to drift among the bull kelp or paddle hard along the shore, this tour is for you. Beginner paddlers welcome. Transportation is complimentary and signup is required.

CANCELED
Washed Ashore Art Exhibit
Washed Ashore's artwork is centered on plastic pollution education and its impact on sea life. Their programs mix art and science and aim to encourage recycling and promote awareness. Their elaborate sculptures represent the marine life affected by plastic pollution. They are made entirely of debris found washed up on our beaches. Washed Ashore's volunteers have gathered over 60,000 pounds of debris. Beach clean-ups and the sculptures created from the debris are designed to inspire change. Their mission? To build and exhibit aesthetically powerful art to educate a global audience about plastic pollution in the ocean and waterways and to spark positive changes in consumer habits.
Tour Amazon's Packaging Innovation Lab
Join us for a tour of Amazon’s Packaging Innovation Lab to learn more about our data-driven approach to reducing packaging. The lab is where we test the durability of packaging to ensure products arrive to customers safely. The lab uses equipment to simulate our fulfillment centers and delivery experience in order to test products for our Ship in Own Container (SIOC) program, in addition to testing different shipping materials and designs. During the tour, attendees will see demonstrations of the equipment and SIOC case studies. Transportation and a light breakfast will be provided, and signup is required!
