David Huang has shared preliminary data from a prelaunch test of the AMD Ryzen AI 9 365, a 10-core Strix Point APU. This APU is part of AMD's next-gen consumer architecture designed for laptops and Mini-PCs. Korean media outlet BusinessKorea reported that SK Hynix presented a research paper on 3D DRAM technology at the VLSI 2024 Summit in Hawaii, held from June 16 to 20. The paper detailed that SK Hynix's five-layer stacked 3D DRAM has achieved a memory yield of 56.1%. The experimental 3D DRAM demonstrated characteristics similar to existing 2D DRAM. Unlike traditional 2D DRAM, which arranges memory cells horizontally, 3D DRAM stacks cells vertically to achieve higher density within the same physical space.
